Frequently Asked Questions

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Indoors! Both the ceremony and reception are indoors. Before the ceremony, there will be an outdoor setting available.

Can I bring a date?

We’ve created a guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding will be RSVP Only. We are only able to allow the people named on the save-the-date envelope. We appreciate your understanding.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. This is an adult-only (age 18+) event.

What should I wear?

We want everyone to feel comfortable in whatever they choose to wear. So the event will be Casual & Comfy! Feel free to bring a change of clothes for the reception as needed as the rest of the night will be casual.

Dress Code: Semi-Formal

Is there a gift registry?

If you are considering giving a gift we would love for you to consider giving a cash gift. At the time of the wedding, we would have lived in our house for three years. Instead of household gifts, we are recommending cash gifts to go towards our dream honeymoon. Please visits the Registry tab for more details.

When should I expect the invitation?

We will be mailing out invitations in October of 2023. Please anticipate receiving them by November at the latest. If you have not received your invitation by November 30th, please reach out to us directly.

What will the weather be like?

Washington is beautiful in the Summer, which is why we’ve chosen that time of year. But, (and that’s a BIG BUT) anything can happen with the weather. We advise all guests to bring a jacket, umbrella, etc. in the event the weather isn’t great. You can keep an eye on the weather here too!

What should we do after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, guests will be shuttled back to the Bainbridge Ferry. We hope that the time between the end of the ceremony and the receptions start will allow you ample time to get back to the Seattle area from Bainbridge Island. Reminder: The ferry runs every hour on the hour! Check the schedule here!

What time should I arrive?

We ask that you arrive at least 15-30 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Refreshments will be served 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Can I take and post pictures of the event and post them on social media?

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #burgesalazar so we can keep track of all of your pictures & videos!

What are your wedding colors?
